Is Valentines Day really all it's hyped up to be?

Firstly we can't deny that these maternity Valentines pyjamas from Boohoo are super cute and comfy!

I've always been 50/50 on Valentines Day if I'm honest. A part of me just thinks it's another reason do spend money or do something just because. After being in relationship with my Husband for nearly 12 years I kind of wonder do we really need the 14th February to show each other how much the other means to us? I'm sure we try and appreciate each other as much as we can no matter what day it actually is and I'm sure we are not the only ones.
I'm sure it's a great time of year for retailers as it's another way to make money and flower sales must bloom. I've always felt its a day where prices go up if you want to go anywhere and you find yourself struggling to book a table or feeling like you need to do something because everyone else.
Fair play to those who want to embrace the romance of this day and what it represents but apart from my Valentine bump pyjamas I think Ross and I are just happy sticking with celebrating our relationship on our anniversary as it feels a lot more personal to us and I'd rather have extra money to spend later on in the year for us both to enjoy a getaway together.

What do you think about Valentines day?
